Director

Professor Susan Neiman

is director of the Einstein Forum. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Neiman studied philosophy at Harvard and the Free University of Berlin. She was professor of philosophy at Yale University and Tel Aviv University before coming to the Einstein Forum in 2000. Her books include Slow Fire: Jewish Notes from Berlin, The Unity of Reason: Rereading Kant, Evil in Modern Thought, Moral Clarity: A Guide for Grown-up Idealists, Why Grow Up? Subversive Thoughts for an Infantile Age, Learning from the Germans: Race and the Memory of Evil, and Left is not Woke. She also writes regularly for the New York Review of Books, the New York Times, die ZEIT, and many other publications. She is a member of the American Philosophical Society and the Berlin-Brandenburg Akademie der Wissenschaften.
